There were so many highlights! The summits and glacier excursions were magnificent. We were blessed with great weather most of the time. Having our own guide in Chalten was great and our guide was fantastic!  

There were a lot of details to this trip and they all came together nicely. The accommodations were very good. Very clean -no complaints. Guides were wonderful. Food was amazing -everything homemade.  

I think we benefited the local people. We acknowledged their services with appropriate tips and we patronized many local establishments while there.  

I can’t think of anything right now that I would do differently!  

Patagonia has been a “bucket list” trip for me. I will turn 60 and retire this year so it was my treat to myself. It was everything I hoped it would be. I hope it doesn’t change with the ever increasing tourism. It’s such a special place. They are very proud of their heritage and it deserves to be preserved.  

 We found Andean Trails online and the e reviews were good and prices reasonable. It was a leap of faith that paid off. Thank you so much for bringing this experience to me.

A highlight was staying at the Reserva Ecologica Santa Rita and hiking the valley between all the volcanoes. It was a smart custom trip plan that felt off-the-beaten trails and was very intimate in the valley of Cotopaxi. This trip pattern framed the Cotopaxi summit nicely as the ultimate trip goal. I was surprised by how lovely the trout was in Ecuador too!

I really liked our guide Pablo and I think our group did too. We learned so much from him. After we left Pablo behind, my learning of the Ecuadorian culture and people tapered.

Overall 10/10 on the food!

Oh my gosh, Mindo was so cool. Loved El Monte lodge. I will return!

Hotel las Torres is a nice place, rooms lovely, staff terrific, food very good, and guides excellent.

Lots of options for excursions, half and full day. Could stay 4-5 days. 

Easy process getting hire car in El Calafate and the drive to Perito Moreno glacier is good. Recommend boat trip and walk around all balconies. Hotel in El Calafate excellent huge clean rooms, comfortable beds, staff friendly, good dining room, and breakfast.

Having a car in El Chalten meant you could drive to trail heads so cut out couple of kms of walking. We did walks without guides, all very well marked.

I recently went on a two-week trip organized by Andean Trails in Chile’s Lake District, and it was an amazing experience. The itinerary was a perfect mix of cycling, hiking, and even a day of kayaking. The places we stayed were great, and the local food was delicious, giving us a true taste of the region.

Andean Trails did an excellent job managing all the details, including the transfer of our luggage, so I could travel light and enjoy the activities. The bike I used was high quality, making the rides comfortable and fun. Everything was well-organized, which made the whole trip stress-free and enjoyable.

I highly recommend Andean Trails to anyone who wants to explore Chile with a mix of adventure, comfort, and local flavour.

Kat provided us with the most amazing holiday to Ecuador, the Galapagos and Colombia. She planned it to meet every single need and want we expressed as well as more! The time and effort she went to make the trip as smooth and easy was incredible! We loved the wildlife – learning about Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands during the planning of this trip did not prepare me for really being able to see so much diversity in the ecosystems.

All the locals we interacted with were very welcoming and friendly.  The food was fabulous and hotels were beautifully located and well maintained.

We chose Andean Trails because I Googled “eco travel to Galapagos Islands” and Andean Trails came up as one with the best reviews.

Kat, I know I have said thank you but really THANK YOU, your attention to details and fine tuning of our trip were wonderful! You were a pleasure to work with for so many years and you gave us the best vacation we could have asked for. Like most of our tour guides they can’t guarantee what we will see or experience but I think we checked off all our boxes with this vacation.

The holiday was fantastic overall. Thanks for all your help. We’ve had a great time!

There were two highlights: the first was finishing the Inca Trail and seeing Machu Picchu. And the second was the trip to Tambopata Research Centre in the Amazon Rainforest.

Food everywhere was very good. Guides everywhere were excellent, especially the guide at Colca Canyon. (Elar), Elvis at Lake Titicaca, the Inca Trail (Felipe) and at Tambopata (Boris).

Overall organisation was excellent. Everything worked smoothly, like clockwork!

Andean Trails was recommended to us by a friend.  The places we chose to visit because they all sounded amazing and they were!

We had a wonderful time and everything went pretty smoothly with your brilliant planning and also with your partners. Overall the hotels were good and staff helpful.

The boys managed a game of golf at the Estancia and it was excellent. No one else on the course and a beautiful sunny 🌞 day.

I would certainly would not hesitate in recommending Andean Trails and am extremely grateful to you for all your help and support throughout. Maybe somewhere else next year?
