On our Ecuador mountain climbing tours and holidays you can head to the tops of some of the most accessible and beautiful volcanoes in the world.
Ecuador’s snow-capped volcanoes have varying degrees of difficulty of ascent, so there are options for all climbers whether beginners or more experienced. Some peaks suit hikers looking for good day walks, others are ideal for the first time climber and some are only accessible to experienced technical mountaineers.
We work with the best expert, qualified local mountain guides on all our mountain climbing holidays. You travel with full support teams and all equipment is provided or available to hire.
For first time aspiring mountain climbers Ecuador is ideal. The long valley of volcanoes stretches down the spine of the country, with peaks to the east and west of the central highway. The mountains are readily accessible and not far from each other so this is the ideal country to learn the ropes and climb several excellent volcanoes.
We organise holiday programmes that include acclimatisation. We suggest you begin your mountain climbing holiday in Ecuador with some walking in the valleys, then take on some tougher day walks up easy peaks such as Paschoa, Pichincha and Imbabura. Multi-day lodge to lodge trekking also helps with fitness and acclimatisation. More challenging but still non-technical peaks such as Illinizas Norte or Ruminahui help too before heading to the higher ice-covered mountains of Cayambe, Cotopaxi, or Chimborazo.
Our top guides are always on hand to help you learn or brush up on your mountaineering and ice climbing skills on the glacier covered peaks. This allows you the best chance of reaching the summits and having a memorable Ecuador mountain climbing holiday experience.
I had such a wonderful time in Ecuador. All the info, help and assistance I received prior to booking and the actual booking of the trip was so easy it was awesome (thanks Kat). The knowledge, experience and kindness of the guides was exceptional. Ojjo and Hokien, the guides I had, are amazing human beings, they are so good at what they do and made me feel safe at all times. The highlight would have to be Iliniza because the refuge and the climb to the summit was the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.

Safe and sound back in the UK, sadly back at work but it was a great trip. The weather was good to us and we had fantastic views from most of the summits. We made it to the summit of Cotopaxi but unfortunately not Chimborazo due to the conditions at the moment. We were also lucky to catch the end of Carnival with the end of our trip which was an unsuspected bonus! I would like to make a special mention of our guide Wilson, who did a great job of looking after us and keeping us entertained. He really went out of his way to make sure that we had everything we could want and again would recommend his skills, experience and company to anyone interested in walking in Ecuador.

It has been the perfect trip. The accommodations were really nice excluding Banos (but I think that the town has not much more to offer).Your partner volcano climbing agency has provided a really outstanding service (precise, accurate, friendly) thanks to Rami and Wil the climbing guides (a real nice guy).On our side we have been very happy to achieve a 100% success rate in our climbing activity despite despite some very nasty weather on Cotopaxi. At the final end I have to make you my best compliments for the excellent service you provided us.Talk you soon
