What I wish for in my Christmas stocking
I think I’d like a neat little suitcase with wheels – I’ve always used back packs up till now, but with no frills airlines set up for those wheel on bags it could be a good time to change – and the back pack can go inside it.

Best travel for me was the Moon temple trek with 6-year-old son Lewis – the trek was stunning and there was nobody else trekking the route at all.
Knowing Lewis is now old enough and very happy, as you can see in these photos, to travel on horse-back for a few days means we can get back out into the big mountain ranges and carry on trekking! 2014 also saw some fabulous journeys with my 80 year old mum.Table Mountain was memorable, and fun!
Travel wish for 2015
Colombia is next on my list – I have wanted to go back since I first set foot there nearly 20 years ago as my lasting impression is of super friendly people and many hidden gems, but interim years have seen much unrest.
The many national parks & mountains look to offer treks as good as any in the rest of the continent and the Caribbean coast and colonial city of Cartagena look perfect for a spot of rest and recovery.

This year was a big year for me in terms of travel as it was the first time I returned to travelling, leaving my 1.5 year old daughter, Lina, with my husband, Dave.
It was good to be on the road again, but it wasn’t easy at times. I travelled to Bolivia and every part of my trip was worth me pushing myself a little.
My highlight was probably camping and hiking in the beautiful Condoriri National Park and meeting our partners out there, who received me so warmly and became friends.
Travel wish for 2015
2015 will see the arrival of our next baby, so I’m afraid most travelling will involve me travelling with a pram to the local park. Although we will manage a wee trip to England’s Lake District and to Germany to see the rest of my family.

I’d love a patch for my rucksack. There’s a hole in it, and I don’t like flags/political banner on my own rucksack, and so have never found ‘the’ patch. Someone, somewhere?

That turtle swimming past in Galapagos!
Travel wish for 2015
Have an eight month epic tour of South America planned – Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Galapagos and Colombia. The wish is to make it happen.
